What are CBD Strains?
CBD Strains are just like any other Cannabis strain. The distinction comes in the ratio of CBD to THC found in the plant. Not all strains are created equal. Some Cannabis users are looking for relief, but are not comfortable with the psychoactive effects Cannabis use can have. Luckily, the diversity of the Cannabis plant provides us with another option.
There are a wide variety of CBD dominant strains available to help find the experience that best suits your needs. These strains are created by crossing Hemp strains with that of either Sativa’s, Indica’s or Hybrid’s. Strains with a high CBD to THC ratio offer the relaxing benefits of Cannabis, without the heavy psychoactive effects.
But what exactly is CBD?
CBD is a Cannabinoid just like THC, both of which are produced by the Cannabis plant. To put it simply, CBD is associated with the pain relieving benefits of Cannabis, while THC is related to the psychoactive effects. Yes, there is so much more going on, but at its root, that is the major difference between the two.
Relief without the grief
These strains are commonly used for medicinal purposes. Due to their high CBC:THC content, CBD dominant strains are a proven method of reducing inflammation and swelling. As a result, they are often used for improving mobility and enhancing mood. These strains are also and excellent method of combating depression and anxiety. In addition, they are perfect for social situations, providing relief from any of the above mentioned symptoms without causing euphoria or altering cognition. Alternatively, they can be used to help focus on a task at hand. This makes CBD dominant strains ideal for any time of day.
How do I choose the right Strain?
There are many different CBD dominant options with varied CBD:THC ratios. We always preach the same advice with all of our products, start low and go slow. Start with a strain that has low CBD and THC and see how it affects you. If you are comfortable with the effects try in creasing CBD while keeping THC to a minimum. Because Cannabis effects everyone differently, it is impossible to define each users experience. Starting off with lower doses is always recommended, remember, safety first. Once you are comfortable, you can increase your dosage until you find the balance that best suits your needs.
